New REEF Books Available

As many of you know, Paul Humann and Ned DeLoach took on the task a few years ago of commiting to revise all three of the Caribbean ID books - Fish, Creatures, and Coral, collectively know as the Reefset. Well, thousands of pictures later, they outdid themselves! The new versions Reef Fish, 3ed. - 100 species and 187 photos added, Reef Creatures, 2ed. - 117 species and 220 photos added, Reef Corals, 2nd ed. - coral disease section added. The best news is that the prices are staying the same. These highly anticipated new versions are on their way to REEF HQ and will be made available to ship on November 19th.” The team will be ordering these books for our members.

Dive Boat - The Rampage

(800) 525-0876. Berthed in the Riviera Beach Street Marina on the east end of 13th Street Riviera Beach, continues to support the team’s mission. We extend our appreciation to Bob Johnson, owner and Captain. See the Dive Schedule for research dive dates and times. Most of the year the boat leaves the dock at precisely 7:30 A.M. We ask that you arrive by 7:00 A.M. so that dive tasks can be assigned. In winter time, when days are cold and shorter, the boat leaves at 8:00, so be at the boat at 7:30 a.m. If you have any questions with regard to the dive, do not hesitate to contact the Dive Coordinator, Ed Weith.

Dive Shop - Force-E

(561) 845-2333, located on Blue Heron Blvd. has graciously provided the team with free air fills for monitoring dives. When getting fills, tell them you dived for PBCRRT and air is free. Nitrox fills are reduced by the price of an air fill. The team thanks Skip and Kathy for their interest and continued support!

Signup for the Dives?

If you did not sign up for a dive at the monthly meeting, contact Ed Weith by phone or email for availability.

Bring a Guest

Members that would like to invite a guest on a team dive must request to do so with Ben Harkanson (561)-842-8624 or Ed Weith at least one week prior to the dive. The guest fee is $30, subject to change.

Meeting Food & Beverages

Let’s spice up the general team meeting! Members are encouraged to donate food & beverages for each meeting!

C-Cards & Dive Insurance Needed

Please bring a copy of your c-cards and proof of dive insurance (if you have insurance) to the next general team meeting you attend. Lin Creel will collect this information and update the team’s records.

Data Entry

When we do not enter data in a timely fashion, the reports get behind. If you have data that must be entered, please do so as quickly as possible (this includes data that must be redone or re-entered). No team report, no grant money! If you require assistance, please ask.

Team Website Development

By the end of 2001, one of the team’s goals is to have a fully functional website (www.pbcrrt.org). Team members are encouraged to keep an eye out for possible sponsor(s). Wade Pemberton will continue to host the developmental website on http://www.wadespage.com/PBCRRT.shtml which is free and convenient. The GoPBI site calendar will be updated as usual. You are encouraged and invited to E-mail your suggestion from the wadespage.com site to the webmaster.
